Koia is one of the first chilled, ready-to-drink plant-based protein brands to hit the shelves in the United States. The brand differentiates itself from other functional beverages by excluding unnecessary sugars and calories in favor of basic, plant-based components that customers can see and identify.
People should demand more from their protein beverage; thus, Koia was created with that in mind. People seeking a more nutritious protein source shouldn’t have to sacrifice flavor or ingest hidden calories, sweets, or unnatural additives. They are just as careful about what they put into Koia as they are about what they leave out. As a consequence, individuals may enjoy a genuine, craveable beverage that makes them feel wonderful. Koia is currently available in three flavors: Vanilla Bean, Cacao Bean, and Coconut Almond. Each beverage costs $5.99 and may be purchased in Whole Foods Markets’ refrigerated department.
Koia has natural ingredients that are soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO, and has an unparalleled 5-to-1 ratio of plant protein to sugar content. Koia has 16-18 grams of plant-based protein and 5-8 grams of natural fiber per 12-ounce serving, making it an excellent meal complement, post-workout beverage, or healthy snack. Koia’s formula relies on a proprietary combination of rice, pea, and hemp proteins to create a smooth, craveable texture in a chilled, grab-and-go beverage.
In 2017, Koia plans to extend its distribution in the natural food channel and introduce additional beverage varieties. The firm, which is located in Los Angeles, was formed in 2013 and is constantly developing new, useful goods. They are committed to providing consumers with novel protein sources. They aim to retain the good energy of plants in all they do, while reducing the things consumers don’t want in a product.

Detailed Review
It’s no longer a viable alternative for a well-balanced meal eaten with a fork or spoon the majority of the time. It won’t fill you up because it’s only 190 calories. If you eat more earlier in the day, it may make a lovely light supper. However, I believe Koia is best taken as a snack in between sit-down meals or as the main course of a meal accompanied by a salad or steamed vegetables.
When I’m out and about on weekends and don’t feel like packing a more traditional lunch or stopping someplace, I generally turn to Koia. It comes in handy, especially while running errands or helping at one of my favorite animal shelters. Rather of missing a meal, I spend a few minutes to sip my drink, which helps me avoid the binges that come with famine.
This almond milk-based beverage has 18 grams of plant protein derived from brown rice, peas, and hemp. The rest of the components are also easy and tasty.
Koia has a total carbohydrate content of 13 grams, a fat content of 7 grams, and a dietary fiber content of 7 grams. I wish there was no sugar in Koia’s original flavors, but they only have 4 grams (1 teaspoon) of it. There isn’t a lot of sugar in this, and the rest of the nutritional information appears to be accurate.
Considering how healthy it is, this plant-based drink tastes surprisingly delicious and creamy. Coconut Almond, Cacao Bean, Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon Horchata, and Coldbrew Coffee are just a few of the unique flavors that you can’t go wrong with. My personal favorite is the Coconut Almond, but I like to keep a variety in my refrigerator to keep things interesting.
Koia has expanded beyond the initial five varieties, however on the Koia website, I’ve only seen the newest fruit flavors and the Koia Keto line. The nutritional numbers are altered, and the keto version uses coconut milk instead of almond milk. I don’t follow a ketogenic diet, but I’ll give it a try if I encounter this line when shopping.
I like to buy a lot of Koia since it doesn’t expire for a month or two after you buy it if you don’t open it. A single Koia may be found for as little as $3 during promotions in my neighborhood, but I typically find them for $4.
To summarize, this is a pleasant and nutritious method to prevent skipping meals when life becomes hectic.
